The Greater Polk County Farmers Market would like to Thank everyone who made our opening day of the market a great success. We feel that the Home & Garden Show was a great opporiunity to reach those in surrounding areas. We had several of our vendors there sharing their products that they will have at our regular market days. We also want to share that the market wants to welcome a new beef vendor to our market, and her name is Sharon Hunt and with her husband Jim they will be bringing Ozark Belgian Blue Beef, so we ask when coming to our market please stop by and check out this great beef.
Tuesday,April 20 was our second day of market and we had a great turn out, it was great to see several of our customers, and we believe that several were surprised to see some of the products that we had to offer so early in the Spring. We had fresh ripe tomatoes from Blossers farm, and they went very fast, but they will be bringing more, we appreciate all the hard work that they and their families do to bring their great produce and flowers to our market.
Saturday April 25, was a very wet day but it was a very busy day for us at the market as the rain didn't stop our valued customers to come and shop. We really appreciate the increase of interest in our local farmers market, so share with your friends, and families, it a great place to shop.
Tuesday April 27, as everyone knows strawberries are very high in demand, and to our surprise yes we had fresh strawberries at our afternoon market, and they will be enjoyed by many. We never know what we will find at our local market, we want to remind everyone that our market is every Tuesday 3:30 to 6:30 and Saturdays from 7:30 to 11:00.

Thank You

A Truly Certified Kitchen

As you know, for the past 3 months, we have been updating our low acid food processing to Missouri and FDA standards. Along with that we attended the State of Missouri sponsored workshop "Field to Market" with regard to food safety. We encourage all growers and producers to learn as much as they can to stay ahead of the curve. While it does seem somewhat intrusive on the time honored ways of the farmer and producer and their customers, these regulations have come to almost all US Farmers Markets to protect the food supply, both on the farm and on the table.

That said, we thought our fellow market vendors, customers and friends would like to see our Missouri Dept. of Health and Polk County Dept. of Health Certified Kitchen. We work hard to maintain above and beyond safety standards in order to continue providing you with the best homemade jams, jellies, salsa, pickles beets and fresh baked goods.
